Julie (aka Cantdog) and Geri on the way up the Ridge trail.

[22k JPEG Image]

The Ridge trail was in great shape - fairly dry, and not very steep.

[22k JPEG Image]

We did see some snow - mostly in the woods and a few remaining pockets on the slides.

[22k JPEG Image]

Geri enjoying the view and a snack :>

[22k JPEG Image]

The Ridge trail joins the Beaver Brook trail for the trip to the summit of Mt Moosilauke.

[22k JPEG Image]

Above tree line, the trail is marked with large carins making it easy to follow, even in bad weather

[22k JPEG Image]

We shared the summit with several other hikers including this gentleman from Ireland and his dog.

[22k JPEG Image]

Although it was warm, it was windy on the top, so jackets and sitting out of the wind was important.

[22k JPEG Image]

Geri and Julie as we depart headed for South peak - you can make out the trail over Geri's shoulder.

[22k JPEG Image]

There is South Peak and the trail leading to it.

[22k JPEG Image]

This little bird has a very loud song that we enjoyed listening too.

[22k JPEG Image]

Looking back at Mt Mooilauke on the trail to South Peak. The trail is fairly smooth and well protected by the pine trees on either side. It was very dry when we were there.

[22k JPEG Image]

It took about 20 minutes to reach South Peak..

[22k JPEG Image]

South Peak as we approach.

Bob & Geri at South Peak.

[22k JPEG Image]

We descended via the Carriage Road and Snapper Trail - both were dry and easy on the knees.

[22k JPEG Image]

Sure - after we finish the hike we find the trail sign!

Once last river crossing and we were back at the parking lot ready for Happy Hour at the Woodstock Station.
